Summer law clerks participate in a formal program providing an introduction to the Air Force and the practice of law for the Air Force. Clerks have an opportunity to attend a series of "brown bag luncheons" during which senior Air Force attorneys describe their unique practice areas. In addition clerks enjoy a series of field trips to legal landmarks such as the U.S. Supreme Court or Air Force facilities such as Andrews Air Force Base. Of course, there are also be opportunities to work on a variety of projects, often involving high-profile issues. Law students have an opportunity to work directly with career government attorneys and military attorneys on a diverse array of legal issues including: acquisition law, fiscal law, ethics, environmental law, military personnel law, labor and employment law, intellectual property, alternative dispute resolution, and contractor responsibility matters.
